Default The Hunter

Introduction:
The ranger class was previously made to wreck havoc on the enemy team through means of pressure, well now they added more skills as more campaign making the ranger into wacker.

Now we have a ranged projectile fighter (beside paragon) who are capable to dishing out damage using a crossbow (I like to short it to xbow). Unlike ranger, this class is designed to kill what is the opposite of what ranger can kill.

This class relied on low-damage speedy kill like an assassin but in non-spike form.

Focus On:
Things-To-Kill:
Warrior
Assassin
Dervish
Bunny Thumper (Ranger)

Get-Raped-By:
Mesmer
Necromancer
Elementalist
Ritualist (Channeling)
Paragon

Tie Against:
Ranger (Classic Bow)
Monk
Ritualist (Restoration)

Attributes:
Hunter's Impact: Your xbow cal damage deal an extra 1% per rank. You gain 3 health per rank whenever you critical with an xbow.

Crossbow Mastery: Increase effectiveness with a xbow.

Dark Favor: Increase your defensive power of the dark side.

Dark Arts: Increase your offensive power of the dark side.

Equipment:
These dark hunter is relying on speed to dodge attack and they need light armor for that.

Armor: 60 max AL
Insignias:
Stoneskin: +10 AL vs. Blunt
Shadowskin: +10 AL vs. Piercing
Lightskin: +10 AL vs. Slashing

Because their armor is pretty low they have access to high energy management

Crossbow: 9-17 Damage. Attack speed same as longbow and range same as spear.

Energy: 25 energy (+5 in gloves and +5 in boots). 4 Pips

Skill:
ok this is my favorite part

Hunter's Impact:

Double Style [10 Energy, 2 Cast, 30 Recharge]: For 3...10 seconds your crossbow have a 15...30% chance to shoot twice in a row.

Double Impact [10 energy, 2 Cast, 15 Recharge]: Elite Skill. For 10 seconds your crossbow have a 20...50% chance to shoot twice in a row.

Double Shot [10 energy, 10 recharge]: Xbow Attack. Shoot twice in a row. Alway critical.

Rage Shot [5 energy, 1 cast, 1 recharge]: Elite Xbow Attack. This attack does an additional 1...10% critical damage. Alway critical.

Headbreaker [10 energy, 30 recharge]: Elite Xbow Attack. Deal +20..30 damage. Deal additional 5...10% critical damage. Alway critical.

Dark Favor:

Turret Style [5 energy, 10 recharge]: Elite Stance. For 10...30 seconds. You have +24 armor. All physical damage is reduced by -10..20. Your attack does -10...20% less damage. End if you move.

After Notes: This class is not to discriminate ranger, in fact this class allow ranger to do their best at wrecking havoc at enemies' line through means of interupt while we dish out damage.

If you flame, you already know im retarded.

on most of the post in ranger section said they weren't designed for DPS and DPS reduce most of their usefulness. Even bunny thumper need knockdown/daze to be effective.

wait, after reading that again: what?
edit: ok, i'll take a shot at this.
it seems like you think i was saying this class is the same as a ranger, and your counter argument is that rangers aren't made for dps, this class is.
what i was really saying is that this class would be doing big domage at range, and anet doesn't want that. if they did want you to be able to do big domage at range, rangers would have higher dps.
basically, you think anet doesn't want rangers to do dps and that the solution is a different class that they would want to do dps. the truth is that anet doesn't want any class to do damage at range like this, and if they did they wouldn't need to make a new class; they'd just give rangers bigger domage.

  • If you're creating a new profession, my suggestion, do something else cause it is not gonna happen.
  • What is the point of killing a warrior but right away got raped by a necromancer? /fail
  • Assassin don't do low damage in speedy fashion. They do High damage in speedy fashion.

I'd have to agree. Hunter just makes it sound like another game.

Crossbows would be interesting though. *ponders*

Well, I guess I don't have much to say besides the class has way too many critical hits for its own good. Making so many of the skills guarenteed to do criticals or have raised crit precentages and not having said skills bound to the primary attribute is just asking to be abused by an A/H. Also [[stoneflesh aura] and [[stone sheath] would kill the DPS, though you said it wasn't ment for fighting eles.

*Gasp* a reason to use Stone Sheath! Heaven forbid!

Well considering cc is obsolete I see no harm in expressing yourself so stop the complaining. Also not everything dark is related to sith. And the primary attribute increase the critical damage not the critical rate and since most of the attack skill dont have +damage critical alone is not big enough compare to other's class skill.
